Summer Days

Just horsing around in downtown Grand Haven after a bike ride and ice cream.  That's me and my two girls making shadow pictures next to a tree.  Fun in the sun!

One of my favorite things about summer is shopping every month at the Allegan Antique Market at the Allegan County Fairgrounds.  It's open on the last Sunday of every month.  We haven't missed one this summer.  Items can be pretty pricey, but sometimes you can find such unique treasures.  Here are some different vendor booths that I like...

Love this one....
And this one too....

This vendor is a true artist.  I want to be her in another life...
Things I love....

Things I don't love...
What is the facsination with these kissing dutchmen?  Notice they're in the last picture too.  You wouldn't believe how many booths had a pair this past month at Allegan.  I'm going to make it a game for my kids next time and have them count how many they can find.  They detest going antiquing, so maybe a scavenger hunt for dutch statues would add some intrigue for them! They can usually be bribed with a fresh squeezed lemonade or a lollipop!

And a fun day was had by all.  The girls weren't with us that day so a fun day really was had by all-no bribes needed.

Ooo, I love everything I see (even the kissing Dutchmen). Never been there, but the photos look very tempting and I've heard lots of raves about it.

Don't mean to offend anyone who has a pair of the 'dutch kids' in their yard! Thanks for the comment. You really should go. It's lots of fun.
